People and Technology Implements Underground Residual Safety Management System at Miho river, Sejong
Seoul – August 28, 2024 –
People and Technology Co., Ltd., announced on the 27th that they have implemented an underground residual safety management system at the Miho river vertical shaft excavation site in Sejong City.
This system has been introduced to enhance the safety management of workers at the Miho river excavation site in Sejong City. Leveraging the capabilities of the Real-Time Locating Service System (RTLS), the system can track the location and movements of workers in real-time.
The safety management system operates based on beacons attached to the helmets worn by workers. These beacons are detected by Bluetooth scanners, which then transmit the information to a cloud-based operating server. This allows the real-time monitoring of workers’ locations and movements within designated zones at the site.
Bluetooth scanners and gateways have been installed in various zones within the Miho river excavation site, enabling precise tracking of workers’ locations and status. Notably, if a worker remains stationary for an extended period, the system immediately sends an alert to a designated safety manager, allowing for prompt action.
Additionally, this cloud-based system allows administrators to check the location and status of workers at any time through a dashboard. This ensures real-time monitoring of the site’s safety and provides an environment where potential hazards can be quickly addressed.
A representative from People and Technology stated, “With the introduction of this system, we expect a substantial enhancement in worker safety at the Miho river site. The ability to monitor the location and status of workers in real-time, particularly in underground common areas, allows for the rapid detection and response to unforeseen incidents. This safety management system is anticipated to play a crucial role in ensuring worker safety at other large-scale underground construction sites in the future.”
