People and Technology sets up IoT-based cleanroom safety system for Tokyo Electron

Seoul – October 25, 2024 –

People and Technology has successfully implemented a state-of-the-art cleanroom occupant safety verification system for Tokyo Electron (TEL), a Japanese semiconductor equipment manufacturer. The system focuses on significantly enhancing safety within TEL’s research environment by managing the location and duration of occupancy of researchers in the cleanroom in real time. Utilizing BLE technology and beacons, this smart safety management solution allows for comprehensive monitoring and systematic management of occupants.

The system by People and Technology consists of the following components:

  • Badge-type beacon
  • BLE scanner
  • BLE gateway
  • Web-based management system

Researchers wear badge-type beacons, which periodically emit BLE signals. These signals are transmitted through scanners to the gateway, allowing administrators to monitor occupant locations and stay durations in real time through server-stored data.

Key Features:

  1. Access Zone Event Alerts
    • Administrators can instantly monitor situations when an occupant enters a specific zone or stays for an extended period.
  2. Color-coded Stay Time Management
    • Stay durations are differentiated by color, enabling efficient management of occupants who remain in one place for a long time.

Through this system, People and Technology has demonstrated the potential of IoT-based solutions for real-time safety management in research environments. By applying cutting-edge technologies such as BLE signal normalization and spatial perception-based positioning algorithms, the system enhances safety by accurately tracking the location and movement of personnel.

Starting with this project for TEL, People and Technology plans to continue developing industrial safety management solutions and expand into various industries, including healthcare, manufacturing, and construction. The company remains committed to improving the safety and efficiency of work environments through innovative technology.
