The purpose of adopting IoT in Yongin Severance Hospital is to improve productivity and user experience who use the service of the hospital and to minimize human error.

Thanks to the company’s partnership with various network AP makers, the hospital chose one of the IndoorPlus+ Enabled network AP to deploy RTLS service within the hospital. Workers in large-scale construction area or isolated environments are often exposed to the danger of falling objects, fire or fall. Due to the noise level and open areas, it is difficult to interact with their colleagues from a distance in case of an emergency.
Under such constraints, the centralized and convenient monitoring system proves to be very efficient in immediately detecting a possible safety issue or any emergent problems for the workers on site. Various workplaces have different environment, settings and wok process. Nonetheless, when an accident occurs, the first action to take is to identify and locate the workers on site and dispatch a rescue team. To do so, it is crucial to be aware of where workers are on site. With RTLS technology, Samsung C&T was able to track the construction site workers during their shift and managed headcount of the workers automatically.

Monitoring the location of workers in a large construction site requires credentials from the past reference. Using the proprietary USB Scanner and gateways, PEOPLE AND TECHNOLOGY was able to deploy Worker Safety solution on Samsung C&T construction site in a very short time frame. Re-usable hardware played a big role in reducing the cost of hardware to be used on other sites.
IndoorPlus+ RTLS provides a Children Safety solution to monitor childrens’ location in and out of the school.
Automatic head count on the school bus, school bus route tracking, and location tracking of the children while they are staying in school. The importance of such service is even more significant in schools for children with special assistance in basic daily routine. A small tag is provided to children and their location tracking starts when they enter the school bus until they get off the bus, back to their guardians.
IndoorPlus+ RTLS Solution for Children Safety
Children who commute by a school bus are under the watch of teachers and bus operators. Once they get on board, the head count starts automatically and the bus drives to school or kindergarten. When they leave the school, teachers can be sure that there is no one left behind. If there is, they will know where the little one is in the school premise.
This service requires seamless cross over and integration of BLE and Cellular network. Tracking children in the school is a standard RTLS location tracking. However, tracking children on the school bus is a new challenge that must be overcome with some flexible and creative thinking. With a long experience of PEOPLE AND TECHNOLOGY, the company was able to analyze the school environment and deploy the right combination of mixed network protocol.

A Pilot Project with Korea Institute of Civil Engineering and Building Technology
Traditional roadway construction is heavily depending on the civil engineer’s experience and there has been no standardized measure for raw material supply and equipment management. To improve the efficiency of roadway building, construction vehicle utilizing, and roadway maintenance, a group of private companies were selected to carry out this government research project. Based on the data collected, collaborative contribution of various tech firms and construction companies, collective intelligence derived from this project, Korea Institute of Civil Engineering and Building Technology is aiming to find a better way to construct the nation’s infrastructure, minimize human error and manage the outcome for maintenance.
This is an attempt that was never tried before and cannot be organized without spearheading support and involvement of the government. Various private sectors were called in to join this project and PEOPLE AND TECHNOLOGY was the sole provider of consolidate IoT platform including Smart Sensing. The company’s core technology was used to monitor underground lines and pipe status.
