Seoul – September 20, 2022 –
On September 19, People and Technology Co., Ltd. (co-CEO Hong Sung-pyo) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Korea University Anam Hospital (Director Yoon Eul-sik) and Bucheon City (Mayor Jo Yong-ik) to implement and operate the 'Safer Smart Home Service' under the Bucheon Smart Integrated Care Initiative.
This partnership aims to address the growing demand for care services driven by an aging society and the rise in single-person households. By strengthening personal and community networks, the project seeks to enhance the effectiveness of public care.
Under the agreement, Bucheon City will oversee the planning and management of the 'Safer Smart Home Service', while Korea University Anam Hospital and People and Technology will provide ICT care devices and a smart platform for the initiative.
Features of the 'Safer Smart Home' Service
The ICT care system includes:
- Activity and housing sensors.
- AI speakers and tablets.
- Health rings.
These devices will be installed in the homes of individuals requiring care to collect data on daily activities and health, predict abnormal behaviors, and notify relevant care personnel of potential risks.
The system's non-intrusive and contactless sensors offer high usability and enable daily monitoring of the health and safety of vulnerable groups, such as seniors or individuals with disabilities.
Hong Sung-pyo, CEO of People and Technology, stated: "We are proud that our AI/IoT platform, IndoorPlus+ Smart Care, will serve as a data service platform that collects, analyzes, and shares personalized lifestyle patterns for timely intervention. We are committed to leveraging IoT and AI technologies to address care challenges for vulnerable populations such as the elderly and disabled."
