Seoul – May 30, 2022 –
People and Technology Co., Ltd. has signed a collaborative agreement with the Korea Evaluation Institute of Industrial Technology (KEIT) for the Industrial Technology Innovation Project.
The project, titled “Development and Validation of a Flexible Medical Platform Capable of Opening in 40 Minutes and Operating Independently for 12 Hours”, is being conducted in collaboration with the Korea University Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation as the lead organization.
The research spans four years and nine months, from April 1, 2022, to December 31, 2026, aiming to develop practical solutions and contribute to the establishment of a public healthcare system capable of rapid and efficient responses to disasters.
Addressing Key Challenges of Mobile Hospitals
The project seeks to address three critical challenges of mobile hospitals using digital and automated solutions:
- Shortage of medical staff
- Insufficient operational personnel
- Limited availability of medical equipment and resources
Innovative Technologies and Solutions
The initiative focuses on developing a comprehensive IoMT (Internet of Medical Things) Patient Care System, including:
- 5G Wearable Smart ID System: Designed for rapid triage and care of up to 100 patients simultaneously in extreme disaster conditions.
- Wireless Communication Systems: Suitable for remote and rugged environments.
- High-Capacity Data Management:
- A server capable of simultaneously connecting 100 patients’ vital signal data with transmission delays of less than 5 seconds.
- A central monitoring system that can oversee vital data from more than 64 patients on a single PC.
Key Features
- 5G Wireless Environment: Enhances operational convenience and durability for extreme conditions.
- Smart ID Integration: Facilitates efficient communication, triage, and care management in disaster situations.
- Unified IoMT System: Integrates multiple medical devices (ECG, oxygen saturation, blood pressure) into a wireless system for comprehensive patient monitoring in mobile hospitals.
Global Expansion and Commercialization
The project also includes validation efforts outside South Korea to prepare for global commercialization. Plans include exporting the system as a packaged solution, enhancing industrial capabilities and expanding its impact.
Hong Sung-pyo, Co-CEO of People and Technology, commented:
“We are grateful for the opportunity to pursue this research in collaboration with industry and academia. Through the development of a 5G-based flexible mobile medical platform, we aim to continue growing and contributing to society.”
