Seoul – August 18, 2022 –
IoT and AI platform provider People and Technology has been selected for the Procurement-Linked New Product Development Project by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups. This program supports R&D projects with confirmed purchase demands from end users, fostering competitiveness in supply chains while securing a stable revenue base.
Under this initiative, People and Technology proposed a project based on its proprietary ideas and development expertise, receiving the required Letter of Purchase Intent or Purchase Agreement to qualify for the open competition.
Collaboration with Duwon Heavy Industries
In collaboration with Duwon Heavy Industries, a leading global manufacturer of automotive air-conditioning systems and satellite components, People and Technology will develop a High-Precision RTLS for Manufacturing Process Visualization. The project aims to enhance precision tracking and visualization in Duwon Heavy Industries' tightly packed manufacturing lines, where such solutions are essential.
Key features include:
- Angle of Arrival (AoA) Technology: Enables 50cm-level precision tracking, addressing issues caused by multi-layered asset stacking through advanced filtering algorithms.
- BLE AoA Localization Devices: Development of the first domestically produced BLE AoA scanners and tags, offering cost-effective, high-performance alternatives to imported systems.
- RTLS Software Development: Automation of process-level dwell time measurement, providing detailed insights into production line efficiencies and enabling reallocation of resources based on direct and indirect task analyses.
Implementation and Benefits
The project includes real-world testing and verification at Duwon Heavy Industries' new factory. Key applications and benefits include:
Asset Tracking:
- Real-time location and movement tracking.
- Accurate assessment of in-process goods and production progress.
Warehouse Management:
- Monitoring of production environments and material inventory in real time.
- Enhanced control of stock levels and workflows.
Worker Safety:
- Real-time tracking to restrict access to hazardous zones.
- Emergency alerts for incidents, with guided evacuation routes and rescue support.
Market Impact
Upon successful implementation at Duwon Heavy Industries, the solution will be expanded to other industries such as construction, chemicals, and manufacturing. The project also positions People and Technology as a pioneer in domestic RTLS solutions, reducing dependency on imported systems and advancing local industry capabilities.
Hong Sung-pyo, CEO of People and Technology, stated:
"This project is an exciting opportunity to showcase our cutting-edge RTLS technology in collaboration with a global industry leader. We are committed to delivering innovative solutions that enhance efficiency and safety across various sectors."
This marks another significant step for People and Technology in shaping the future of industrial IoT applications.
