Seoul – March 24, 2022 –
Hallym University Sacred Heart Hospital (Director Yoo Kyung-ho) announced that it has been selected for the 2022 AI Voucher Support Project, organized by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the National IT Industry Promotion Agency (NIPA).
The AI Voucher Support Project provides financial assistance to healthcare institutions, SMEs, and venture companies to adopt AI solutions, fostering business growth and accelerating digital transformation. Each project can receive up to KRW 300 million, with a total budget of KRW 98 billion.
Project Overview
In collaboration with People & Technology, Hallym University Sacred Heart Hospital will develop an AI-based Imaging Exam Allocation Optimization System. This system aims to address delays and increased scheduling demands caused by rising MRI exam volumes due to expanded health insurance coverage.
By implementing a customized scheduling system that predicts required exam times using AI, the project aims to enhance operational efficiency.
Planned System Features
The hospital will deploy People & Technology’s AIoT solution, IndoorPlus+ SmartCare, to achieve the following:
- MRI Exam Time Prediction Model: Accurately forecast the time required for MRI exams.
- Available Slot Allocation Model: Identify open scheduling slots for MRI exams.
- Patient-Centric Appointment Recommendation Model: Provide tailored scheduling options to optimize patient convenience and equipment usage.
The system is expected to increase patient satisfaction and improve the operational efficiency of MRI equipment, ensuring smoother scheduling and faster services.
Future Expansion
Hong Sung-pyo, Co-CEO of People & Technology, stated:
“We anticipate extending this AI solution beyond MRI to other diagnostic equipment such as CT scanners. Additionally, we plan to implement the system across the other four hospitals within the Hallym University Medical Center network, driving further innovation and efficiency.”
Enhanced Patient Care
Director Yoo Kyung-ho of Hallym University Sacred Heart Hospital remarked:
“By adopting AI solutions, we aim to simplify our diagnostic processes and deliver faster, more accurate medical services. We are committed to improving healthcare quality and promoting the health of our community.”
This project highlights the potential of AI in transforming hospital operations, offering a model for other healthcare institutions to adopt similar innovations for enhanced patient care and efficiency.
