People and Technology (PnT) participated in the Saint Paul – Daechan International Medical Academic Festival held at Saint Paul General Hospital in Hanoi, one of the capital’s most established public general hospitals. The event marked the official opening of the Saint Paul – Daechan Linked Clinic, a milestone initiative between Vietnam and Korea aimed at elevating orthopedic care and accelerating medical technology transfer.

The festival was organized by Saint Paul General Hospital, Daechan Hospital (Korea), and the Korean Digital Medical Innovation Association (KDMIA), with participation from key institutions including the Korea Health Industry Development Institute (KHIDI) and the Food & Drug Safety Attaché of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea. Senior medical professionals, surgeons, hospital executives, and medical university students from Hanoi attended the full-day academic program and live-surgery demonstrations.
A Strategic Vietnam–Korea Collaboration for International-Standard Care
The newly opened Saint Paul – Daechan Linked Clinic was presented by both hospitals as a strategic step in knowledge transfer, advanced training, and high-quality orthopedic treatment. According to Dr. Nguyen Duc Long, Director of Saint Paul General Hospital, the clinic symbolizes the “trust, capability and long-term vision shared between the two hospitals to bring international-standard medical services closer to patients in Hanoi.”
From the Korean side, Mr. Han Sang-ho, CEO and Founder of Daechan Hospital and a joint & spine specialist, emphasized the importance of expanding cooperation in orthopedic, joint, and spine surgery — Daechan’s areas of excellence. He highlighted that the linked clinic represents not only medical partnership but also the “friendship and effective collaboration between Vietnam and Korea.”
The clinic treated its first patient on the morning of November 10 — an 81-year-old Hanoi resident who expressed trust in the clinic due to the collaboration between two reputable hospitals. This anecdote added a meaningful human dimension to the ceremonial opening.

A High-Level Academic Program Featuring Live Surgeries
The afternoon symposium centered on trauma and orthopedics, drawing strong interest from Saint Paul’s specialists and medical staff. The program opened with two live surgeries broadcast directly from Daechan Hospital in Korea, including:
- A Total Knee Replacement (TKR) performed live with Q&A
- A bi-portal endoscopic discectomy (ED) demonstration
These surgeries offered participants rare real-time insight from top Korean surgeons Dr. Lee Min-su and Dr. Cho Hyun-guk. The procedures were praised for their practical relevance and applicability to Vietnamese clinical settings.
Saint Paul Hospital also presented its own achievements, notably a lecture by Dr. Nguyen Thanh Trung on innovation and development in pediatric and lower-limb orthopedics, highlighting the hospital’s growing expertise and modernization efforts.
The academic festival concluded with a session confirming future directions for research cooperation, training programs, and technical transfer between the two institutions.

PnT’s Distinctive Presence: Showcasing Korea’s Advanced IoMT
As one of the innovative Korean healthcare companies invited by KDMIA, PnT operated a dedicated booth inside the hospital, strategically positioned near the event’s main entrance. After the red carpet, the most prominent color visible was PnT’s signature orange, attracting the attention of clinicians, surgeons, administrators, and hospital visitors alike.

PnT demonstrated its smart hospital platform, including:
- Real-time remote vital signs monitoring
- People and medical asset tracking
- Environmental monitoring
These solutions are designed to support hospitals in transitioning toward data-driven, connected care environments—an especially timely topic in Vietnam, where the demand for advanced orthopedic care and Korean medical technologies is rapidly rising.
PnT was also formally introduced during the seminar session featuring companies selected for the Live Surgery showcase, where the audience response was highly positive. Clinicians directly expressed interest in exploring pilot applications of PnT’s real-time monitoring and location-based technologies, reinforcing the alignment between PnT’s platform and Vietnam’s healthcare digitalization priorities.

Insights from Inside Vietnam’s Healthcare System
Beyond exhibition activities, the PnT team toured Saint Paul Hospital, gaining first-hand understanding of operational practices, infrastructural specificities, and clinical workflows in Vietnam’s public healthcare environment. The visit revealed a high level of modernization at Saint Paul indicating strong readiness for smart hospital upgrades and data-driven transformation.
Engaging directly with nurses and frontline staff provided valuable practical insights into patient flow management, equipment tracking needs, and monitoring challenges, helping PnT refine its approach for potential collaborations in Hanoi and beyond.
A Shared Commitment to Innovation and Future Cooperation
The Saint Paul – Daechan International Medical Academic Festival was more than an opening ceremony; it was a comprehensive demonstration of clinical excellence, academic exchange, and digital innovation.
For PnT, participating in this landmark event strengthened the company’s role as a key contributor to Vietnam–Korea medical cooperation and highlighted how Korean IoMT solutions can support Vietnam’s ambitions in smart hospital development.
As Saint Paul Hospital continues its mission of “a century of tradition, pioneering technology,” PnT looks forward to supporting future collaborative initiatives that bring safer, more efficient, and more patient-centered care to Vietnamese hospitals.
