Seoul – January 23, 2024 –
People and Technology (CEO: Hong Seong-pyo) announced the successful implementation of an AI-based smart road surveillance system in Ulju County in collaboration with H&T Co., Ltd. (CEO: Ko Ki-han). This project was conducted for major roads in Ulju County, with People and Technology's innovative On-Device AI object analysis technology playing a key role.
People and Technology’s On-Device AI CCTV performs deep learning-based AI functions directly within the camera itself. This enables the analysis of ultra-high-definition 4K video while minimizing unnecessary data transmission, reducing network and server load, and simplifying operations at the control center to maximize cost efficiency. The system also provides advanced AI video analysis with minimal configuration, allowing for efficient system operations.
In this project, the system maintains a wide field of view similar to existing surveillance cameras while independently detecting passing vehicles and recognizing license plates directly within the camera. It features optimized capabilities for various road environments, including front/rear recognition and multi-lane vehicle number recognition.
Furthermore, People and Technology has established a system that allows for the centralized management of events generated by multiple AI CCTVs installed in Ulju County through the AI Portal. This enables integrated management of data generated by AI CCTVs, facilitating swift tracking of fleeing and missing vehicles and providing valuable statistics such as traffic volume and speed, which can be effectively utilized for road traffic policies.
Ju Jin-sung, Head of the AI Business Division at People and Technology, stated, “This smart road surveillance project in Ulju County is an innovative example of utilizing the latest On-Device AI technology.” He further added, “We will continue to provide innovative AI solutions that address key challenges in disaster response and safety through a range of advanced AI CCTV products that enhance AI-based municipal surveillance systems.”
