Enterprise AI services company People and Technology Co., Ltd. (CEO: Hong Seong-pyo, Lim Jin-soon) has announced that its On-Device AI CCTV has received the TTA Verified Ver.1 security performance certification from the Korea Telecommunications Technology Association (TTA).
This is the second TTA certification for People and Technology, following the housing-style AI CCTV (PNH-A9001), with the bullet-style AI CCTV (PNH-A9081R) now joining the list.
The TTA certification process comes in response to recent concerns over the security of IP cameras, especially in light of CCTV hacking incidents. To address these concerns, the government mandated TTA security certification for public CCTV devices as of March 2023. The TTA certification assesses performance, functionality, and interoperability with other systems. Devices must pass rigorous tests across three key areas: security, functionality, and interoperability.
The On-Device AI CCTV is designed for monitoring high-speed roads and national highways, capable of detecting passing vehicles and recognizing license plates. The camera can autonomously set regions of interest (ROI) within its footage and read vehicle license plates in real-time. Additionally, it can track vehicle speed without separate sensors and detect illegal driving behaviors like wrong-way driving and illegal parking, all based on predefined regions. Events detected by the camera are sent to the control center in the form of still images (JPEG) and metadata.
The AI-based object detection feature reduces false alarm rates, improving monitoring and operational efficiency. The camera also generates metadata with object attributes for quicker and easier smart searches. With dual-channel streaming, storage space is minimized, and the camera can operate without an external power supply, using its own 12V DC, 50mA maximum power, and supporting additional sensor connections.
A representative from People and Technology commented, "We are currently in the process of registering both the housing-style CCTV (PNH-A9001) and bullet-style CCTV (PNH-A9081R) on the Nara Jangteo (the Korean government’s online shopping mall). Once this registration is complete, we expect to expand the capabilities of multi-purpose surveillance CCTV in general roads, monitor reverse driving and illegal parking, detect illegal U-turns, and speed monitoring in school zones and other speed-limited roads. We expect this will accelerate our entry into the public market."
This certification positions People and Technology to expand its presence in the public sector and enhance its capabilities in various surveillance and monitoring applications.
