People and Technology has been selected as a key partner in the “Blockchain-Based Digital Mailbox Pilot Project” spearheaded by Korea Post in collaboration with KT.
This initiative aligns with our expertise in location-based technology applied to smart hospitals, resource management, and worker safety. Building on our existing experience with blockchain projects, we are excited to leverage this opportunity to enhance our solutions and create greater customer value.
About the Blockchain-Based Digital Mailbox Project
Proposed by Korea Post, this pilot project aims to address the rising challenges of undelivered registered mail caused by:
- Increasing absentee households, such as single-person households or dual-income families.
The project focuses on:
- Reducing the cost of returned and failed deliveries for registered mail.
- Enhancing privacy protection by converting physical addresses into QR codes.
If implemented nationwide, this service is expected to save approximately KRW 7.5 billion annually in delivery costs and privacy-related expenses.
PnT’s Role in the Pilot Project
As a member of KT’s Blockchain Alliance, People and Technology is responsible for developing the:
- Core platform and software for the digital mailbox system.
- Tools for Korea Post staff to manage and operate the blockchain-based service effectively.
The pilot project, built on KT’s blockchain platform, will integrate our expertise in LBS (Location-Based Services) and RTLS (Real-Time Location Systems) with blockchain technology to provide secure, efficient, and scalable solutions.
A Vision for Enhanced Value Creation
This project marks an important milestone in combining blockchain technology with our existing IoT solutions. By integrating our experience in blockchain platform development with our core technologies, we aim to deliver even greater value to our customers through our future product roadmap.
Completion Timeline
The Blockchain-Based Digital Mailbox Pilot Project is scheduled for completion in November 2019, setting the stage for potential nationwide deployment.
At People and Technology, we are proud to contribute to innovative projects that enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and prioritize privacy in the digital age. Stay tuned for updates on the progress of this exciting initiative!
