Last week, we had an excellent opportunity to actively explore the EHS (Environment, Health, Safety) system.
In essence, the EHS system can be viewed as a redefinition of the RTLS (Real-Time Location System) from a safety perspective, aligning closely with People and Technology's IndoorPlus+ RTLS and Smart Sensing solution.
Currently, RTLS not only provides real-time location tracking but also processes various Smart Sensing Data. A significant portion of this data pertains to:
- Worker Health (Health): Monitoring key health indicators for on-site personnel.
- Environmental Data (Environment): Tracking environmental factors like temperature, humidity, or gas levels.
Ultimately, IndoorPlus+ RTLS for Safety aligns perfectly with the broader definition of an EHS system.
Understanding the EHS System
The EHS system is more than just an IT solution—it is a comprehensive framework combining processes, methodologies, and systems under the motto “Safety First”.
Key goals of EHS systems include:
- Preventing Industrial Accidents: Proactively identifying risks to mitigate potential hazards.
- Continuous Monitoring: Ensuring real-time surveillance to maintain worker safety and environmental integrity.
- Minimizing Impact: Industrial accidents can escalate into serious social, economic, and regional issues. EHS aims to contain such impacts with preventative measures.
In achieving these objectives, IoT technology plays a critical role, making IndoorPlus+ RTLS the ideal tool for building an effective EHS system.
IndoorPlus+ RTLS as the Core of EHS
A significant 30% of IndoorPlus+ RTLS case studies are directly related to worker safety and safety monitoring systems. Notable examples include:
- LG Display Paju Plant: Implementing a residual worker identification and safety monitoring system to track worker location in real time, ensuring quick response in emergencies.
Safety and location tracking are inherently linked—particularly when human lives are at stake. In the event of accidents or disasters, the ability to determine:
- Precise Location of victims or workers,
- Number of Personnel in affected areas,
- Key Health Data of individuals,
- Environmental Data of the region,
is critical for deploying rescue operations effectively. Real-time updates of these data points form the foundation for immediate, data-driven decision-making.
Collaborating with Industry Leaders
People and Technology continues to lead the integration of IndoorPlus+ RTLS into EHS systems. Currently, we are in discussions with one of Korea’s leading construction companies to explore EHS-related business opportunities.
Through solutions like IndoorPlus+ RTLS, we are committed to helping industries achieve Safety First goals by providing innovative tools for prevention, monitoring, and response.

Looking Ahead
As we continue to refine and expand our solutions, we remain focused on delivering tools that improve safety, health, and environmental sustainability. Stay tuned for more updates as People and Technology works toward creating safer workplaces and contributing to SMART EHS advancements.
