People&Technology (PNT), a specialist provider of AI/DX-based smart hospital service platforms, announced that through a strategic partnership with Dong-A ST, it has deployed a real-time patient monitoring solution at Seogwipo Open Hospital (Hospital Director Haeng-cheol Lee) in Seogwipo, Jeju Island. This implementation spans both general wards and the hemodialysis unit, drawing attention for demonstrating that real-time patient monitoring can be applied across a range of different clinical settings.
Seogwipo Open Hospital serves as a regional hub hospital meeting the healthcare needs of residents in the Seogwipo area of Jeju. Through this deployment, the hospital has upgraded its inpatient safety management system and laid the groundwork for delivering more reliable healthcare services.
The deployed solution consists of the patch-type wearable ECG device "HiCardi" and the "V3 Gateway," which receives Bluetooth signals and relays the data to the server. The solution was applied across Wards 3 and 5 as well as the hemodialysis unit. When patients wear HiCardi, key vital sign data — including ECG and heart rate — is collected in real time and transmitted via the V3 Gateway to People&Technology's smart hospital platform, "IndoorPlus+ SmartCare," for integrated management.
This deployment is especially significant in that it extends real-time patient monitoring beyond general wards into the hemodialysis unit. Given the nature of the hemodialysis unit, where treatments such as blood dialysis are performed, real-time awareness of patient condition and rapid response to abnormal signs are critical — making wearable-based monitoring expected to make a substantial contribution to strengthening patient safety in this setting.
With this deployment, medical staff at Seogwipo Open Hospital can now track patients' vital sign data in real time, 24 hours a day, and respond immediately when abnormal signs occur — creating an environment where staff can focus more closely on patient care.
