People and Technology (PnT), a leading Korean smart hospital platform company, announced that it has been officially selected for the "2026 ICT-Based Healthcare System Overseas Expansion Support Program" organized by the Korea Health Industry Development Institute (KHIDI).
The selected project, titled "Deployment of an Integrated Smart Hospital Digitalization Solution for Outpatient and Ward Services Using Existing Infrastructure in a Large Medical City in Saudi Arabia," will be carried out through a consortium formed between People and Technology and Saudi healthcare digital transformation specialist Digitcon.
The project targets Prince Sultan Military Medical City (PSMMC), one of Saudi Arabia's largest military hospitals under the Ministry of Defense, and aims to establish a flagship K-smart hospital reference model for the GCC and broader MENA region. The consortium plans to integrate inpatient, outpatient, and hospital operations into a single platform-based ecosystem using existing hospital infrastructure.

Unlike conventional overseas healthcare projects focused on exporting standalone products, this initiative promotes a "fleet-based" expansion model in which a core Korean smart hospital platform enters first, enabling additional Korean digital healthcare technologies and medical devices to follow. The consortium structure is considered one of the project's key strengths:
- People and Technology, the lead organization, is responsible for integrating its IndoorPlus+ SmartCare platform — covering real-time patient monitoring, RTLS-based tracking, indoor wayfinding, and hospital command center services — drawing on experience from more than 80 hospital deployments in Korea.
- Digitcon, the consortium partner, contributes more than 20 years of healthcare IT and digital transformation experience in Saudi Arabia, including operational infrastructure already deployed at PSMMC and multiple hospital digital transformation projects across the Kingdom.
This combination of Korean smart hospital platform technology with deep local operational expertise enables faster implementation, lower deployment risk, and stronger localization capabilities.

The consortium emphasized that the project has already progressed significantly despite the geopolitical instability and regional conflict that escalated in the Middle East during the application period. Leveraging Digitcon's existing infrastructure and local workforce in Riyadh, as well as previously established partnerships and certifications, the consortium has continued preparations without major disruption. Key preparatory milestones already completed include:
- A tripartite MOU signed between PSMMC, People and Technology, and Digitcon in January 2025
- Saudi regulatory readiness secured for the IoMT gateway and wearable monitoring devices
- Integration planning completed based on Digitcon's already operational systems inside PSMMC
The project includes three core demonstration services:
- Smart Ward — real-time wearable patient monitoring and nursing workflow optimization for inpatient units
- Smart Outpatient — AI-powered indoor wayfinding and patient journey digitalization to improve outpatient flow efficiency
- Hospital Command Center PoC — integrating outpatient, emergency, and inpatient operational data into a unified management platform for centralized hospital visibility

Saudi Arabia was selected as the strategic target market due to its central role in the GCC healthcare ecosystem and its Vision 2030-driven digital transformation agenda. The country represents nearly 60% of the GCC healthcare market and is currently investing heavily in healthcare digitalization and smart hospital infrastructure.
Beyond the project itself, the consortium expects the initiative to generate broad technological and industrial impact across both Korea and the Middle East — strengthening the global credibility of Korean smart hospital platforms, creating new overseas expansion opportunities for Korean digital healthcare companies, and supporting the adoption of integrated, data-driven healthcare ecosystems aligned with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030.
For People and Technology, the PSMMC demonstration is also expected to serve as a key reference project for future expansion across Saudi Arabia, the GCC, and the wider MENA region, while validating the company's scalable and vendor-neutral smart hospital platform approach.
