Seoul – June 19, 2025 –
People and Technology (CEO: Hong Sung-pyo) announced on the 17th that its on-device AI CCTV product, VisionPlus+, has been officially selected as an “Excellent Invention” under the 2025 Excellent Invention Priority Purchase Recommendation Program.
This program, based on Article 39 of the Invention Promotion Act and Article 2 of the Act on Contracts to Which the State Is a Party, allows the Commissioner of the Korean Intellectual Property Office to recommend outstanding inventions developed by small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) for priority purchase by government and public institutions. Selected products receive a recommendation certificate and are eligible for benefits such as exemption from technical and quality evaluations when registering on the Public Procurement Service’s Venture Nara platform, priority purchase by public institutions, and expanded sales channels.
VisionPlus+, which was designated as an excellent invention, is an on-device AI CCTV system capable of performing AI video analysis directly on the camera without the need for a server. It supports a wide range of intelligent video analytics, including license plate recognition, speed measurement, wrong-way driving detection, and traffic flow analysis. It has been recognized for its technological excellence thanks to lower installation and operation costs compared to conventional systems, high recognition accuracy based on 4K video, real-time performance, and privacy protection features.
The product incorporates proprietary patented technologies, including a “Multi-lane License Plate Recognition System” (Patent No. 10-2734978) and a “Video-based Speed Calculation System” (Patent No. 10-2717557). It has also been field-tested, with 196 units currently deployed and in operation in Ulsan’s Ulju County.
A representative from People and Technology stated, “This selection demonstrates both the technological capability and business potential of our solution for enhancing public safety and building smart cities,” and added, “We will continue to contribute to more efficient safety management for public institutions and local governments through advanced AI video surveillance technology.”
