People&Technology (PNT), a smart hospital solutions company led by CEO Sung-pyo Hong, announced that through a strategic partnership with Dong-A ST, it has introduced a real-time patient monitoring solution at Gunpo St. Mary's Hospital (Hospital Director Jae-su Lim) in Gunpo, Gyeonggi Province. This implementation marks the first smart hospital adoption case in Gunpo City, drawing attention as a new benchmark for regional healthcare digital transformation.
Gunpo St. Mary's Hospital collects key vital sign data such as electrocardiogram (ECG) readings and heart rate in real time through the wearable ECG device "HiCardi+," worn by patients. The collected data can be checked in real time through the ward's central monitoring system, and immediate alerts are sent to medical staff whenever abnormal signs occur.
This adoption has established an environment in which the condition of inpatients can be tracked around the clock, enabling rapid response even in emergency situations. Patients experience fewer activity restrictions thanks to the wireless wearable device, improving the quality of their recovery, while medical staff are relieved of equipment management burdens and can focus more closely on patient care.
This implementation also carries broader significance, as it lays the groundwork for providing safer and more reliable healthcare services to local residents. As smart hospital environments—previously concentrated mainly among large hospitals—extend to regional hub hospitals, this case is expected to serve as a practical model for smart hospital transformation among hospitals of similar scale going forward.
Sung-pyo Hong, CEO of People&Technology, said, "This implementation at Gunpo St. Mary's Hospital will serve as a case demonstrating that a high-quality smart hospital environment can be realized even at regional hub hospitals. We will continue driving tangible digital transformation change so that more hospitals can transition into smart hospitals."
