As the enforcement of the Serious Accident Punishment Act (SAPA) intensifies, enterprise AI services company People and Technology Co., Ltd. (CEO: Hong Seong-pyo, Lim Jin-soon) has seen rising interest in its worker safety management solution, IndoorPlus+ SmartSafe, developed by the company.
The Serious Accident Punishment Act aims to strengthen safety and health measures within companies, prevent industrial accidents in workplaces, and protect workers' lives and physical well-being. Initially applied to companies with over 50 employees, the law will expand to include small and medium-sized businesses with 5 to 50 employees, as well as small construction projects, from January 2024. This has led to heightened focus on building industrial safety solutions to prevent serious accidents at various worksites.
In response to this demand, People and Technology has supplied IndoorPlus+ SmartSafe to several major companies, including a leading steel manufacturer (Company A), a mining company in Gangwon Province (Company B), a global composite materials supplier (Company C), and a network solutions developer (Company D), garnering attention within the industry.
IndoorPlus+ SmartSafe is designed to monitor worker health data and location in workplaces with various hazards, such as factories and construction sites. It aims to prevent accidents that could arise unexpectedly and ensure the quick response to accidents to protect workers' lives and safeguard assets in the work environment.
The solution tracks workers' health status using biometrics, such as heart rate and body temperature, and identifies their location. In case of an emergency, the system provides real-time alerts, minimizing rescue operation times and ensuring that immediate action can be taken if abnormal health signs are detected. Additionally, the system is equipped with an emergency call alert function, allowing workers to send SOS signals via a safety management app. These signals are transmitted to managers along with the worker's location for immediate response.
The system is also capable of monitoring worker location within specific work zones and managing workforce allocation, rest times, and work status in real time through a mobile app. This integration of data allows for efficient management of multiple work locations and ensures overall safety at the site.
One of the key advantages of IndoorPlus+ SmartSafe is its ability to replace traditional hardware-based systems (such as scanners and gateways) with smartphones and watches, allowing companies to implement a cordless RTLS worker safety management system without additional hardware or network installation costs.
In addition to IndoorPlus+ SmartSafe, People and Technology also provides an AI-based industrial safety solution with AI CCTV. This solution uses vision AI technology to detect potential safety risks and accidents in real time, helping site managers respond promptly to ensure workplace safety. The system analyzes various footage from installed CCTV cameras to provide real-time hazard alerts, supplementing visual monitoring to enhance safety management.
A representative from People and Technology explained, "When managing multiple work sites, IndoorPlus+ SmartSafe enables real-time worker management across locations, departments, and job zones, allowing for easy and efficient monitoring of overall operations and safety." The representative also highlighted that AI CCTV can maximize safety and efficiency by preventing accidents and securing critical response times through real-time video analysis.
As the Serious Accident Punishment Act expands its coverage, there is an increased need for safety management systems across nearly all businesses in South Korea. People and Technology is focused on further enhancing the development and operation of both IndoorPlus+ SmartSafe and AI CCTV, aiming to help companies comply with safety regulations while ensuring the highest standards of worker safety.
